"I have a very strong passion for the vivid imagery I find in nature. I take intense pleasure in creating canvases using these magnificent colors. I want people to realize the beauty surrounding them and to give them a piece of it-- to refresh or inspire their souls."
"I use colors and space to allure people to my paintings, I have had collectors comment on how their attention is immediately pulled into my paintings."
General History: The vast landscapes and wide-open spaces of my native Canada were my first inspirations, and it became my life's work to bring my visions to others. Through the vivid use of color, I capture the often-unnoticed intensity of nature and bring it to startling life before my viewers.
Like many artists, I began with drawings in childhood. By the time I reached my twenties, I was utilizing the techniques of the Masters and impressing my contemporaries and teachers alike. In 1981, I sold out my first show in Toronto, Ontario Canada.
Moving to Vancouver, British Columbia Canada in 1986, I found myself surrounded by a wealth of worthy subjects. Other than creating props for films, however (for example, I created a seven-foot likeness of Christ and a six-foot likeness of The Madonna for "We're No Angels" starring Sean Penn and Robert De Niro), my attention was absorbed in raising my four children.
In 1990, I relocated to Los Angeles. With the support of my husband of 30 years and two of my children still living at home, I returned to my career in 1999, and have been inspiring fans and patrons ever since.
